Wardogs will arrive on consoles. Developer Bulkhead announced today that PS5 and Xbox versions of its large-scale first-person shooter will launch in 2028, the same year the game releases on PC.
Players can wishlist the game on console storefronts today. The title will launch exclusively on PC before heading to consoles later down the line. Wardogs will launch into Early Access on PC today, with Bulkhead using the opportunity to iterate on the game with feedback from players.
Microtransactions will not be included in Wardogs during Early Access. The studio plans to use a premium pricing model up-front, instead of including microtransactions.
Wardogs Arrives in Early Access
Wardogs launches into PC Early Access today at a price of $39.99. In a statement, Bulkhead CEO Joe Brammer said the team knows there is more work to be done on the shooter, and plan to listen to community feedback in order to continue developing Wardogs.
Player interest in the game has already been high, with early playtests said to have hit hundreds of thousands of concurrent players. Interest has also been driven by the game’s creator community, which consists of large streamers showing off Wardogs’ emergent gameplay.
Instead of opting for a free-to-play game with microtransactions, Bulkhead is going the premium route and charging players $39.99 upfront. There will be no microtransactions during Early Access, according to the developer.
That price will likely change when Wardogs releases day-and-date on PS5, Xbox, and PC. Bulkhead has yet to share when Wardogs’ full 1.0 release will happen, or what players can expect the game to cost at launch.
Console players will have a bit of a longer wait, as Wardogs is slated to release on PS5 and Xbox in 2028.
