Where Winds Meet will be adding a new area to its expansive open world called Hutuo. The new war ravaged region will release on November 13th 2026. Hutuo has been announced by developer Everstone Studio and head of publishing Eric Zheng. They have said this will be the games biggest story arc so far.
This region will take you to the front lines where soldiers are losing and trying to escape the war. You will have to decide if your loyal to your lord or want to save innocent lives. There will be more story added along with new graphics and mechanics that allow the battle fields to feel more epic.
About the Story in Hutuo
Xia will play a big role in this new region. Many may know about xia from previous content but this will dig deeper into what it means. The story will cover topics of saving others who cannot save themselves. Everstone wants to focus more on what makes someone a hero instead of just fighting with epic sword moves.
There will be many areas within hutuo that have stories attached to them. One of these areas will be at Zhongdu bridge. This is where enemies are coming from the north and are breaking through our defenses.
You will have to decide if your loyal to your ruler even if they may be losing. Or if you want to fight with your friends to save the weak.

As stated before this area will be different from other areas you have visited. Everstone wanted to create an area full of mud and metal from war.
By using the environment we hope to tell more of the story behind Hutuo. There will be stories about soldiers trying to follow terrible orders. And survivors singing eerie songs by the rivers reeds. These stories will show how heroes exist in all situations. Not only the ones wielding a sword.
Where Winds Meet Will Be Getting New Features for PS5 Pro
Everstone has also added some new graphics improvements for those who own a ps5 pro.
With the new PSSR and better reflections you will be able to see more detail in the water. Everstone is hoping to reach 60 fps with all of these new effects. Such as fire, ash falling and reflection.
Some other new features will include:
- More Dualsense features: When pulling back on your war bow you will now feel it. Same goes for hitting enemies with your weapon.
- Better Combat: By decreasing frame hitches when using effects you can dodge/parry with no delay.
- Quicker Loading Times: By using asynchronous load times they hope to reduce load times when travelling.
- All of these will help improve your experience while exploring and fighting in hutuo.
When Will Where Winds Meet Release the Hutuo Update?
The new region of Hutuo Battlefield will be released on November 13th 2026. Along with the games first anniversary update worldwide. This is just one of many updates that will continue to come out for Where Winds Meet. Helping them expand there story to the world.
