Warhorse Studios have confirmed they’ve been hit by a cyberattack

Warhorse Studios, the developer behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, have confirmed they’ve been hit by a cyberattack. The studio say they’re working with cybersecurity specialists to secure their systems and understand the full extent of what happened.

Warhorse Studios have confirmed they’ve been hit by a cyberattack. The Kingdom Come: Deliverance developer shared the news in a short statement on X today, apologising to players and saying they’re working with cybersecurity specialists to secure their systems.

In the statement, Warhorse said they’re trying to understand “the full extent of what happened” and thanked players for standing with them. They haven’t said what was accessed, when the attack happened or whether any player data is involved.

Warhorse are one of the biggest names in Czech game development, and they’re currently working on a new Kingdom Come game and an open-world Lord of the Rings RPG, both announced earlier this year. Embracer have said the next Kingdom Come game is due by April 2028 at the latest. There’s no word yet on whether the attack will affect either project.

A growing problem for the games industry

Warhorse aren’t the only games company dealing with this. Cyberattacks on studios and publishers have become much more common, and several have been disclosed this year alone.

This month, Capcom Capcom confirmed that attackers got into its CAPCOM ID account system, exposing around 11.7 million records worldwide. Capcom says the data included email addresses and account details such as login history, and that it has found no evidence customer passwords were compromised.

In April, Rockstar Games Rockstar Games confirmed a breach after the ShinyHunters group claimed to have stolen 78.6 million records through a third-party vendor, and then leaked data when Rockstar refused to pay. Rockstar said only a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed.

Warhorse haven’t said who is behind this attack or what was taken, so it’s too early to say how serious it is.

For now, the details are thin. We’ll update this story when Warhorse share more.
