It's been a long wait but Ubisoft have finally unveiled The Division 2: Echoes of Central Park, a major new DLC, which takes players into the Upper West Side and Central Park itself, a location referenced since the original Division but one that players could never explore previously. Echoes of Central Park will launch on November 3, and we have a bunch of details about what this one brings.
The darkest and most disturbing DLC yet
One thing that Ubisoft is adamant on - this is a much darker story than anything they've built previously in The Division universe. The DLC follows a rescue mission for a survivor named Miranda that goes wrong when agents discover an unknown threat already inside the park.
Developers described leaning into a genuine horror tone for the first time, while keeping explanations grounded in the series' established lore. Players will recruit companions across the Upper West Side, each with unique abilities that carry over into the base game once unlocked.
New endgame and map size
Following the campaign, players re-enter the park for a new endgame mode built around replayability, an escalating challenge system where staying longer increases danger while offering better rewards, culminating in world boss encounters against new "apex predator" enemies.
Furthermore, the new map is roughly twice the size of the previous Battle for Brooklyn DLC, which means plenty of new things to discover, and locations to clear.
Crossplay, free weekend and other additions
Ubisoft also confirmed that even if you never played the game before, you'll be able to jump straight into the new DLC thanks to the level 40 boost feature.
Additionally, Crossplay arrives shortly after the DLC's launch, letting players across PlayStation, Xbox and PC play together for the first time. A free weekend runs from September 24-28 across all platforms, with progress carrying into the full game.
The base game is also discounted up to 90% during Ubisoft's 40th anniversary sale.
