Wardogs

Wardogs

WARDOGS is a tactical first-person shooter developed by Bulkhead and published by Team17, entering Steam Early Access on 10 September 2026 on PC, with console versions planned to follow. Set in the derelict industrial mountains of Eastern Europe on a fully destructible battlefield, the game pits 100 players split across three teams in a fight for a central control zone, with cash earned through kills, objectives, and teamwork used to purchase loadouts and equipment each life.

Inspired directly by the community-made King of the Hill mod for Arma 3, WARDOGS positions itself between the accessible chaos of Battlefield and the deliberate tactical depth of Arma, and has explicitly distanced itself from both the battle royale and extraction shooter templates that dominate the current multiplayer market. The game surpassed nearly one million wishlists on Steam ahead of launch following a successful closed test period.

Teamwork is central to progression: loadouts are bought with in-game cash, meaning squads that coordinate and control objectives consistently outgun and outspend lone wolves. The destructible battlefield, built across a 256km² map, evolves as structures are broken down and positions are altered by sustained fire. A hardcore mode removes killcam, strips back HUD elements, and locks the kill feed to squad level for players who want maximum friction.

Bulkhead have committed to a no-battle-pass monetisation model, with cosmetics earned through gameplay rather than purchased. The studio expects Early Access to last between 12 and 24 months, shaped by community feedback, with a target of retaining several thousand daily players to keep servers populated throughout that period.
