In a recent statement to Insider Gaming, Ubisoft stated,  "After careful consideration, we have made the tough call to halt development on Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, effective immediately."

Moreover, they further stated, "Our priority now is to support the talented team members at our Red Storm Entertainment studio, who will be transitioning to new projects within our company, including XDefiant and Rainbow Six."

In a move towards a more profitable growth trajectory, Ubisoft has been cancelling many upcoming games left and right for the past few weeks. Currently, Ubisoft is focusing their complete effort on upcoming titles such as XDefiant, Star Wars Outlaws, Rainbow Six Mobile, and the newly revealed Assassin's Creed Shadows.

However, it is surprising to see Ubisoft ditch their efforts at releasing The Division Heartland, which had potential for being a great game considering its extraction shooter mechanics.
