Following the official rating by the Korean ratings board, Star Wars Outlaws has also been rated in Australia, receiving an "M" for mature rating, which is equivalent to a "T" for teen rating from ESRB.
The rating does not include any additional details. It only mentions "science fiction violence" and "online interactivity" and that's pretty much it.
So what does this mean and why it is important for Ubisoft's upcoming action-adventure? Well, when games get rated, that usually indicates that the release date is very close so expect the marketing campaign to kick off in the coming months.
Star Wars Outlaws does not have a specific release date at the moment but Ubisoft recently reassured fans that the game is coming sometime in 2024. If we had to guess, we'd say that Star Wars Outlaws will probably launch sometime during the Holiday season, if not sooner.
In case you are not familiar with Star Wars Outlaws, the game is developed by Massive Entertainment, the studio behind The Division series and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
The game is set between the events of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. Players will get to travel between various unique planets across the galaxy, pull off heists and explore worlds on foot or using their vehicle.
Ubisoft and Massive promise a seamless transition from planet to space, meaning there won't be loading times during landing or take-off.
Star Wars Outlaws certainly looks quite exciting and it's high on our list of most anticipated titles. We'd love to see more planets, combat and exploration, though, as the initial few trailers looked very scripted.
The game is officially coming to PC via Steam and Ubisoft app, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. It will be part of Ubisoft's subscription service Ubisoft+ Premium on day one.
