Ubisoft's team behind the newly released multiplayer shooter XDefiant has stated that they are working on the game's apparent hit registration issues.

Ubisoft has released XDefiant on PC, PlayStation and Xbox. The free-to-play shooter takes inspiration from old-school arcade shooters like Call of Duty: Black Ops.

Set in a mashup of Ubisoft's original IPs, XDefiant has made its way through a lot of hurdles, including release schedule delays and server issues. Since the game's first beta testing phase, players have complained about netcode and hit registration issues.

Ubisoft and Mark Rubin's team behind XDefiant have actively addressed these issues with today's update, deploying a netcode fix. In addition to that, Mark Rubin has also addressed the hit registration and the team's plan to fix it with future updates.

XDefiant's rampant hit registration issue

In a recent Twitter post made by XDefiant updates, the user urged all players to sign a petition to fix Hit Registration in XDefiant. To calm things down, XDefiant's Executive Producer Mark Rubin commented, "You don't need a petition. It's something we are working on."

While XDefiant received an update earlier today, Mark shared no exact time frame for the hit registration update. However, considering hit registration being an intricate part of any shooter title, it'll take a lot more time than we can imagine.

The XDefiant team and Mark has remained active on Twitter responding to player complaints since the game's worldwide launch. Like any other multiplayer shooter, XDefiant had its fair share of problems right after launch but the developers have been quite active releasing hotfixes and updates for many concurrent issues.

With regular updates addressing different issues we can hope that XDefiant will become one of the best free-to-play shooters out there. Right now players have remained divided over the game's reception. However, majority of fans and streamers have appreciated the game for staying true to its core and for not including a strict SBMM system to deliver a fun and casual multiplayer gaming experience.
