Following MSI's teaser for their upcoming handheld gaming PC shared on their official X account yesterday, leaker Wario64 has today revealed images of the device on his X account. These images are accompanied by the specifications that we can anticipate from this portable PC designed specifically for on-the-go gaming.
As is customary when news and leaks like this emerge on X, the comments from readers can offer insights into potential user impressions, and these opinions are generally varied. The primary concern voiced by many is the apprehension that the Windows operating system may not be well-suited for a handheld PC, which forms the basis of most comments.
As highlighted in certain comments, the success of the Steam Deck can be attributed to its use of an operating system, which is a variant of Linux known for being more stable and better suited for portable PC gaming devices.
The MSI Claw handheld device is set to be driven by a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 7 155H CPU, which doubles the core count compared to the Ryzen Z1 Extreme utilised by major competitors like Asus and Lenovo. The graphics solution will rely on Intel hardware based on the Arc Alchemist architecture. While the specifications are yet to be officially confirmed, it is expected that the MSI Claw will feature 32 GB of RAM, also doubling the capacity in comparison to devices such as the ROG Ally and Lenovo GO.
Regarding the design, comments also appear somewhat critical in this aspect. One user mentioned that merely looking at the handheld device made their hands ache, attributing it to the design not being user-friendly. Nevertheless, devices of this nature can be beneficial, particularly for gamers frequently on the go. Increased competition typically leads to improved product quality, making such developments positive for consumers.
