Stalker 2 is one of the most anticipated shooters ever since developer GSC Game World announced the game way back in 2020 at the Xbox Games Showcase. Back then, Stalker 2 got a 2021 release date but what followed was several delays until the devs announced the current Q1 2024 release date.
After a long wait, it does seem like Stalker 2 is finally ready to launch in the next couple of months since the game is available for pre-download now on Xbox Series X|S, which suggests Stalker 2 could be coming soon.
The listing on the Xbox app also reveals the pre-order bonus which includes "Extended Campfire content", exclusive weapon and armour skin and "Early Bird" multiplayer badge.
Usually, when games become available for pre-download on Xbox Series X|S or Xbox app on PC, the official release date follows in a couple of months.
However, don't take this as a confirmation that the Stalker 2 launch is just around the corner. As we already mentioned, the game was already delayed several times so until we get a firm and confident date from the developers, take everything with a grain of salt.
It's possible that we'll hear more about Stalker 2 at the rumoured Xbox Developer Direct event, which could be scheduled for late January or early February 2024.
Stalker 2 is coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S. The game will also be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass.
