A new Resident Evil leak claims Capcom is developing major story expansions for Resident Evil Requiem and the Code Veronica remake.

Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil Code Veronica are slated to receive hefty story expansions after launch, according to a new report from Resident Evil insider Dusk Golem.

The story DLC news was revealed by Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem who said Capcom has moved away from creating new Resident Evil spin-off titles in favor of bigger single-player DLC.

Per the report, both Resident Evil Requiem and Resident Evil Code Veronica will be getting several hours of story content added to them after launch, with the report hinting at other upcoming RE entries receiving the same treatment moving forward.

Golem’s comments indicate that Capcom will be using the DLC as a substitute for the lack of new spin-off titles currently being worked on. Instead of producing new side games, Capcom plans to enhance its mainline series by including more story content through downloadable expansions.

The leak comes after a Capcom producer recently said that there wasn’t much to report when it comes to next-gen Resident Evil spin-offs. While Capcom may not be working on any new games right now, the alleged story DLC will at least grant players new content to play between main entries.

Capcom has yet to confirm any downloadable content for either game. As is often the case with Resident Evil leaks, take it with a grain of salt until we receive confirmation from Capcom itself.

Resident Evil Requiem is set to release later this year in 2026, and Resident Evil Code Veronica releases in 2027. Both games will serve as the series’ next two major entries.
