Resident Evil is one of the longest-lasting and probably the most popular horror series in the gaming industry, and few would argue about this claim. So many titles, movies, comic books, and many other media are the proof of its enormous popularity.
A few months ago, Capcom made many Resident Evil fans happy when they disclosed that they're working on the official ninth title called Resident Evil: Requiem, hence without too much to show for it, with only the official announcement and a new teaser trailer, but without any significant details about the game, or not enough for the impatient fans, anyway.
However, according to a well-known leaker, Dusk Golem, this will change very soon, specifically on the Gamescom opening night when, according to him, the new showing of Resident Evil: Requiem will happen. According to Dusk Golem, Capcom will showcase new details, probably the new gameplay trailer, and not just that, after Gamescom, new details will be shown at the Tokyo Game Show as well, which will take place sometime in September.
One thing, however, that was especially intriguing for all the fans and what almost everyone demanded to be explained from Dusk Golem, is the role of Leon Kennedy in the upcoming Resident Evil title. We all know that Leon will appear in this game, but he won't be the protagonist; that role is given to Grace Ashcroft, the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, one of the earlier protagonists in the series.
According to Dusk Golem, the story of Leon will get some sort of conclusion in this title. He said,
“As far as I know, part of RE9’s whole “Long Awaited Endings & New Beginnings” stuff is supposed be Leon’s last major role in the timeline (sure he’ll still pop up in CG movies & earlier timeline stuff), so you got that to look forward to with Resident Evil Requiem then.”
In any case, more information about Resident Evil: Requiem couldn't hurt, and if those claims from Dusk Golem are to be believed, in less than a month, we will know much more about the game than we know now. We cannot wait to find out some new details.
