'Courage in Desperation' is a trophy/achievement in Pragmata, the newest action-adventure from Capcom, tied to the Lunum Mines area. The description states that you must repel the LunaDigger while progressing through the mines, which is vague enough to send most players in the wrong direction.
The boss fight LunaDigger at the end of the area does not count. You need to kill one of the LunaDiggers that emerges from the ground during the sections where you cross the Moon's surface on foot. The problem is that LunaDigger has a large amount of health, hits hard, and can grab you from underground and strip half your health if you fail to hack out of its grip fast enough. The strategy below removes most of that risk.
Step 1: Wait for the second LunaDigger encounter
Do not attempt this during the first surface crossing. The second encounter takes place in a larger open area and gives you much more room to work with. Progress through the area until you reach it.
Step 2: Head to the building guarded by two flying bots
As soon as you land on the surface in this larger area, head towards the building ahead that is guarded by two flying bots. There is a set of stairs leading up to it. Be aware of the LunaDigger because it can reach to you while crossing the surface. Try to reach the stairs as fast as you can.
Step 3: Clear the flying bots
Deal with both flying bots before doing anything else. They will distract you at the worst possible moments if you leave them alive, and you need to be able to focus entirely on LunaDigger during the next phase. There is also one walker bot roaming the area, so if it gets near you, kill that one as well.
Step 4: Use the stairs to provoke and engage LunaDigger safely
This is the core of the strategy. Watch for the trail of yellow dust moving across the surface; that is LunaDigger moving underground. Wait until it is far enough away from the stairs, then drop down onto the surface to provoke it, and immediately jump back up onto the stairs. LunaDigger will surface facing you, which opens up its weak point: the mouth.
From the stairs, hack it to keep its defences down and pour every round you have into the open mouth. Use all your available weapons and the override protocol if you have it. When your ammunition runs dry, LunaDigger will submerge again. The moment it does, repeat the cycle: drop to provoke, get back on the stairs, hack, and shoot. The stairs keep you off the ground and out of grab range, which removes the biggest threat it poses.
Keep repeating this until LunaDigger goes down. The trophy/achievement will unlock as soon as it is dead.
Quick tip: The moment LunaDigger submerges after you empty your clip, get back on the stairs immediately. Do not stay on the surface trying to land extra hits. The grab attack comes fast, and the stairs are your only reliable safe position throughout the whole fight.
