Encumbrance is a common mechanic in almost every RPG out there, and it works in such a way that your character can carry only a limited amount of weight. Once you pick up more than you can carry, it effects your character in a variety of ways.
In Dragon's Dogma 2, the latest RPG from Capcom, encumbrance works in the usual way; if your character is overloaded, their movements will become sluggish, and if you overload the character to the max, he/she will become completely immobile.
However, there are a couple of ways to deal with encumbrance in Dragon's Dogma 2, and in this guide, we will disclose them all, helping you to get rid of all unwanted cargo and even earn a coin or two in the process.
How to deal with encumbrance
As we mentioned earlier, there are several ways to deal with the problem of encumbrance in Dragon's Dogma 2, and we will try to disclose all of them. The first thing you want to do once your character is overloaded is to share your burden with the other pawns. You will be able to have up to three companions with you all the time and if you become overloaded, simply enter your inventory and sort items by weight.
Choose the heaviest ones, click on them, and then use the "Give" option. Choose to whom you want to give an item to carry it, but be careful not to dismiss the pawn who carries an important item because it might prove difficult to find them in the world after they're gone.
The second way is to improve your character's carrying capacity. This can be done by finding the Golden Trove Beetles, special items used specifically for this purpose. Once you find the Golden Trove Beetle, choose it from your inventory, and click on "Use," it will automatically make your character able to carry additional weight.
The third and most efficient method is to visit one of the inns and, from the inn keeper's menu, choose the deposit option. This action will allow you to deposit all unwanted cargo from your inventory, and since this deposit chest holds unlimited capacity, you can store as many items as you want, and once you have a need for them, simply withdraw anything you want.
