It seems everything is quite different in Dragon's Dogma 2, the latest RPG from Capcom, and all the mechanics seen in similar games in this genre are executed in a different manner in this, we dare to say, very special game.
Such is the case with a well-known mechanic found in almost every RPG, fast ravel, which, in this game, is executed in a completely different way than you might expect.
If you are wondering if fast travel is even a thing in Dragon's Dogma 2, the answer is yes. Fast travel is present in this game, even though executing it is confusing as hell. In this guide, we will explain how to fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2, and which requirements have to be met to be able to do so.
How to fast-travel in Dragon's Dogma 2
To be able to fast travel in Dragon's Dogma 2, you first must find the places you can fast travel to (portcrystals) and then find special items called ferrystones to execute fast travel.
Portcrystals are very scarce and can be found only in big cities or settlements. However, they won't be located in plain sight, and in order to find them, you will have to search for them carefully. Once you find a portcrystal, you must activate it, and only then will you be able to fast-travel to that very place.
Now to find the second ingredient, ferrystones. These stones are found in various chests or can be obtained as rewards for finished quests. They can also be bought for a hefty amount of money from certain vendors, provided you have money to spend.
In any case, once you are in possession of a ferrystone and want to fast travel, simply locate it in your inventory and interact with it. The first option will be "Use." Upon clicking it, the menu with all unlocked portcrystals will appear. Click on the one you want to travel to, and that's pretty much it; you will be teleported to the desired location promptly.
