Diablo 4 is not one of those games that will throw at you the screens with all the explanations about what to do in the game, but instead, it encourages you to discover everything on your own, giving you only hints of what to do and where to go.
As you start the game, you will notice that you have only four healing potions at your disposal, and as encounters grow fiercer and more difficult, you will definitely need the help of stronger healing potions and a greater amount of them as well.
If you don't know how to upgrade your healing potions or how to upgrade your potion inventory, this guide will help you.
How to upgrade potions and potion inventory in Diablo 4
When you first visit Kyovashad, one of the first big settlements in the game, you will get a few mission markers for the missions that are not yet explained, only indicating that you should visit those markers and check them out on your own.
The most southerly one on the map will bring you to the alchemist called Veroka, and as soon as you engage in conversation with her, she will offer you to upgrade your potions for starters, and later, as she says, when you bring enough materials from the outer world, she will make them even better.
To upgrade potions, you will have to gather herbs throughout the world and also give some gold to the alchemists for their trouble. There is also one more requirement for the stronger potions, and that is your character's level. For the first potion, Tiny Healing Potion, your character needs to be at level 10, for the next one, level 20, and so on all the way to level 90.
Higher potions will have better characteristics but will also require rarer resources to be upgraded, and, of course, more gold.
Upgrading potion capacity, on the other hand, requires higher renown that can be done by completing various activities throughout game's open world. Renown can be tracked from within in-game map.
