Blizzard Entertainment is about to launch the first Diablo 4 paid expansion, Vessel of Hatred, on October 7th at 4 PM PDT once it goes live.
For PC players, pre-loads are available through Battle.net for a preemptive strike to ready themselves. Also, pre-loads of the expansion on Xbox and PlayStation consoles will start on October 5th at 4 PM PDT.
Unfortunately, Steam users will have to wait for the global launch to actually download the expansion.
Vessel of Hatred will be available to all Eternal and Seasonal Realm characters from the very start, and old characters have full support. If you have completed the base game's Prologue too, new characters can skip right into the expansion without needing to replay the main campaign.
A big update will accompany the release of the expansion, which will include some changes to the difficulty tiers, level max cap, and Paragon system, among others.
This does need to be tempered with the fact that it also scales back all existing characters above level 51 down to level 50. Among new monster families from the setting of the expansion is the Nahantu, which also appears in the seasonal content.
Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred will launch on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. More information will follow, closer to the actual release date.
