Given Diablo 4, the latest action RPG from Blizzard Entertainment, has a really huge map to explore, riding horses and all other kinds of mounts would be a perfect way to solve problems of long and tedious walks between quests or other in-game activities scattered all over the in-game map.
One would think that mounts will be available as soon as the game starts and teaches you its basics, but as you progress through the story, you can notice the stables in almost every larger settlement, but as soon as you try to buy a horse or do anything related to stables, the game will tell you that you don't meet the requirements to ride the horse yet.
If you are wondering when the horses will become available to you in Diablo 4, we have an answer for you.
How and when you will be able to use mounts in Diablo 4
Without further ado, the mounts will become available quite late in the game, near the end of Act 4, to be exact. During the main quest called A Gathering Storm, you will be prompted to travel a long distance in a short period of time, and one of the NPCs will offer you one of his horses to help you out.
This will activate the priority quest called "Mount: Donan's Favor," which will allow you to use mounts and customise horses, adding new looks and different armours to your horses.
Once you obtain the ability to use mounts in Diablo 4, your life as a demon hunter will become much easier because, from that moment on, you will be able to cover long distances with no fuss, avoiding all unnecessary encounters since the monsters will mostly leave you alone for as long as you are riding a horse.
