Overwatch Competitive Season six changes

Jeff from the Overwatch team sat down to go through some of the changes that are waiting for you in the Competitive Season six. The season will be a month shorter but there will be more points awarded per win. Also, your skill rating decay shouldn't hurt as much anymore.

Operation Blood Orchid - meet the Operators

Operation Blood Orchid will have two Operators from Hong Kong and one from Poland. Today, we'll get to know the first two. More information will be divulged on 26 August.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds sells 8 million

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has sold 8 million copies according to Brendan Greene, and is now right behind DOTA 2 on SteamCharts pushing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive to the third spot. An Xbox version of the game should be available before the end of the year.

Andromeda is now complete and still broken

EA and what's left of BioWare are done with trying to repair Mass Effect: Andromeda's singleplayer. During the weekend the publisher has announced that there will be no further patches or updates to the game's singleplayer, but multiplayer will remain on life support.

Rainbow Six Siege - Operation Blood Orchid

Rainbow Six Siege is getting a new map and three new Operators. Operation Blood Orchid, will be available to season pass holders on 29 August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. The map is located in Hong Kong and players will be hunting the members of a criminal organisation in a theme park.

World of Tanks is getting a campaign on consoles

World of Tanks is getting a solo and co-op campaign mode on consoles titled War Stories on 22 August 2017. All console versions of the game will receive an episodic mission system to re-enact historical battles or participate in fictional ones set up by the developers.

Robocraft is leaving Early Access next week

Free-to-play arena shooter Robocraft is leaving Steam Early Access next week. The game has been in Early Access for about three years and calling it a full release doesn't change much at this point, especially since it's a free-to-play title. Still, it's a good reason for the devs and community to celebrate.

PUBG sells 7 million and hits over 400,000 concurrent players

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is well on its way to overtake Counter-Strike in the top 3 of Steam's most played games. The battle royale shooter has sold over 7 million copies now, and has hit 400,000 concurrent players.

Crackdown 3 has been delayed into 2018

Crackdown 3 was scheduled to release 7 November 2017, but the game's release has now been delayed to an unspecified date during Spring 2018. Crackdown 3 was initially supposed to release in 2016, and Microsoft hasn't really named a concrete reason for the delay.

Digital Extremes' new game is another hero shooter

Digital Extremes is working on a hero shooter called The Amazing Eternalns. The game looks like Overwatch mixed with a trading card game for maximum RNG lootboxyness, but it does have a unique art style at least.

Call of Duty World League Championship finals

Call of Duty World League Championship wrapped up and Optic Gaming took home the trophy. This year's prize pool was the biggest in Call of Duty history. The Championship was presented by PlayStation 4 and hosted by Major League Gaming in partnership with Activision Publishing.

Why the LawBreakers idea of a AA game falls flat

LawBreakers has launched close to a week ago, and despite a mild overall reception Boss Key Productions aren't overly worried. The game's creators have described the title as double-A (AA), as opposed to their AAA competition, but that isn't entirely true.

Battlefront 2's first DLC will be tied to The Last Jedi

EA's thralls are still pretending that Battlefront (2004) never happened and that Battlefront (2015) was actually pretty good. Battlefront 2 will release a few months before The Last Jedi hits theaters, but appropriate DLC will be deployed in time to exploit the free publicity generated by the movie.

Rainbow Six Siege's latest DLC pack will be available on 29 August for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC. More details will be revealed on 25 August during the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League Finals.

The Overwatch League has two more teams

Two more teams from The Overwatch League have been acquired. The team for London was purchased by Jack Etienne of Cloud9, and Stan and Josh Kroenke purchased a team for Los Angeles.

Overwatch's Summer Games are now live. The standard Loot Box has been replaced with a special Summer Games box, and LucioBall has a new map. Last year's items are available at a discount.

Devolver Digital will be releasing a documentary about the Call of Duty franchise in September. The CODumentary was created in the UK by Jonathan Beales. The film was shot in North America, UK and Europe.

Rainbow Six: Siege has around 2.3 million daily users and over 20 million total registered users since its launch in 2015. UbiSoft has plans to continue supporting the tactical squad based shooter for a long time.
