Fortnite: Battle Royale's popularity has already proven to be a huge problem for Bluehole's PUBG and even the recently 'failaunched' H1Z1, and its seems like Epic's latest move is only going to pile more misery for the competition.

Epic says Apple's iOS minions can already enlist for Fortnite Invite Event on Monday, whereas Android users will have to wait a bit more in order to get their Fortnite: Battle Royale fix.

The company says they partnered with Sony in order to ensure "Cross Play and Cross Progression" between all gaming devices. This means PC, Mac, iOS and Android will be squadding up and wreaking havoc across the map.

Celebrating Fortnite's announced arrival to mobile, Epic said, "We believe this is the future of games. The same game on all platforms. Console quality graphics and action. Play when you want, where you want." Amen. Well, to everything except console quality graphics, wink wink.

Of course, cross-compatibility is the way to go, although at this point, we're still mostly held back by hardware requirements. We're not really sure how Epic is planning on ensuring a smooth Fortnite Battle Royale experience, but we doubt they'd undo all the good work they've done on Fortnite over some experimentation - they know what they're doing.

This is in sharp contrast with some other genius companies who give all sorts of divine graphics promises, only to realise that their PS4 sales will suffer, after which they thought it best to lie and deceive their faithful PC fans.

Anyway, if you sign up at on Monday, 12 March 2018, you'll be getting an e-mail invite and soon after a mail with the link to Fortnite Battle Royale iOS.

Fortnite: Battle Royale's Minimum requirements are an internet connection, duh, and iOS 11 on "at least an iPhone 6S/SE, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2, iPad 2017 devices."

Epic's Fortnite: Battle Royale strikes a perfect balance between realism and fun, despite the somewhat casual feel. Whatever your flavour is, the game's got it. Shooting? Building? More shooting? Boogie Bombs? What would you need kind sir?
