InXile Entertainment revealed their first game under Xbox Game Studios, a first-person shooter RPG officially titled Clockwork Revolution, which is coming in the near future to PC and Xbox Series X|S.
If you watched the Xbox Games Showcase 2023, you've probably seen the trailer which gave us a first glimpse of the steampunk world, the story and the characters.
Another thing that many players noticed is that the game is a shooter, which is something that InXile didn't do before as they specialise in RPGs.
However, the studio was quick to clarify a couple of things about Clockwork Revolution. RPG fans will be happy to hear that InXile's next title is indeed a true RPG with all the features that one would usually expect from this popular genre.
This includes a full character creation tool, a branching dialogue system, crunchy stats and deep reactivity. Add a bit of dark humour and a stunning steampunk setting and we're in for a ride.
InXile also said that this is a fantastical RPG with dynamic time-bending combat and a deep interconnected roleplaying system.
The project is led by industry veterans Chad Moore and Jason Anderson, so it's safe to say that it's in good hands.
Clockwork Revolution still does not have a release date and it may take a while before we get to play but we don't have any doubts that it will be well worth the wait.
