Ubisoft has revealed official appointments to lead the Assassin’s Creed franchise after its recent studio reorganization.
Amid its transition into Creative Houses, the publisher announced that three veteran franchise leaders will now lead the brand at Vantage Studios.
Together, this leadership team will craft Assassin’s Creed’s long-term vision, defining its overall creative direction, game quality standards, and international expansion.
Three veterans assume leadership roles
Leading the charge will be:
- Martin Schelling – Brand Head of Assassin’s Creed
- Jean Guesdo – Head of Content
- Francois de Billy – Head of Production Excellence
Schelling served as Ubisoft’s Chief Production Officer for years past, alongside stints on Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Origins, and Valhalla.
Guesdo joined the franchise during Assassin’s Creed and later became Creative Director of Black Flag and Origins. Billy worked as Production Director on Origins and Valhalla and has collaborated with Guesdo on several flagship titles.
All three will fulfill what Ubisoft describes to be a “pivotal role” in “steering the brand’s long-term vision, creative ambition, and growth.”
Support and games in the works
Assisting with the leadership change is Ubisoft producer Andree-Anne Boisvert who will continue to lead cross-brand efforts, as well as technological excellence.
On the other hand, Vice President Lionel Hiller will lead the brand’s strategy and go-to-market planning. Earlier this year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed several Assassin’s Creed titles are already in the works.
This includes both single and multiplayer games. Known titles include Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe, which is said to be the next mainline, single-player focused entry. Assassin’s Creed Invictus is also in development. It is being positioned as a standalone multiplayer-focused experience.
