Ubisoft has confirmed that future instalments of both Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed are in development. CEO Yves Guillemot confirmed the games’ existance when speaking to Variety. He was outlining Ubisoft’s plans following its recent restructuring.
Leaks have suggested both games are in development for some time, but this is the first time it’s been officially confirmed by Ubisoft.
Two Far Cry Projects in the Works
Guillemot confirmed that two Far Cry games are currently in development. While no games were officially announced, rumours suggest these games will be:
- Far Cry 7
- A standalone multiplayer Far Cry game
At this time Ubisoft hasn't announced any details about where either game will take place or when we can expect them to launch.
Multiple Assassin’s Creed Titles Confirmed
They also confirmed there are multiple Assassin's Creed games in development. These games are said to be a mix of:
- Single-player entries
- Multiplayer or online entries
These games include:
- A remaster of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
- Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe
An unspecified multiplayer game said to be similar to Fall Guys. Dates have not been revealed for any of these games, but Ubisoft stated we can expect numerous titles to release over the next few months and years.
Rayman’s Return Is Just Beginning
Guillemot expanded upon Rayman‘s future as well. He said that while Rayman 30th Anniversary Edition is part of the franchise’s comeback, it is only the first chapter.
Ubisoft could have additional entries based on the platformer franchise later on as part of its restructuring efforts. It certainly seems like Ubisoft is banking on its biggest franchises as more of them get new entries ranging from solo to online-focused.
