Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is officially getting a PS5 Pro enhanced upgrade thanks to next-gen remake Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, and it seems developers are aiming directly for Sony’s enhanced console.
Speaking about the remake, which has been completely rebuilt with upgraded visuals, added content, and gameplay tweaks, players have been curious to know if the game would also be benefiting from the PS5 Pro’s boosted graphical features and enhanced PSSR upgrades.
We can now confirm that it does, thanks to Black Flag Resynced director Richard Knight. Chatting to Wccftech, Knight confirms that the PS5 Pro enhancements are currently being worked on.
PS5 Pro Features and Upgraded PSSR Planned
Knight added that there “definitely” is interest from the development team to support PlayStation 5 Pro versions of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. He also confirmed he owns the PS5 Pro himself and is looking forward to utilizing Sony’ enhanced PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution technology, otherwise known as improved PSSR.
Details on technical specifications or frame rate targets have yet to be disclosed, but players should likely expect a boost to image quality and frame rates over the base PS5 version.
Sony has been pushing support for improved PSSR quite a bit as of late, as recent titles like 007 First Light have stated improved upscaling support will be in-game right on PS5 Pro at launch.
Black Flag: Resynced would likely see improvements to overall crispness, smoother gameplay, and lighting within the open world presented in the game’ Caribbean island.
Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed a release window or offered up more gameplay just yet, but hopefully we won’t have to wait too long before returning to one of the series’ fan-favorites with a graphical upgrade.
