In Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, expected upgrades include denser islands, improved environments and visuals, enhanced weather systems, and expanded gameplay mechanics.

Ubisoft hasn’t forgotten about fans asking for more Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced‘s official worldwide reveal has been scheduled for April 23 at 9 AM PDT.

This will be when Ubisoft steps out onto the stage and formally presents its remaster/rebuild project. It had been heavily rumoured for months, so this reveal doesn’t come as much of a shock.

Originally released in 2013, Black Flag proved itself to one of Ubisoft’s finest adventures yet. Players jumped at the chance to explore its vibrant open world, dive into naval combat, and follow Captain Edward Kenway on his merry way.

What to Expect From the Reveal

Details on what Resynced actually entails have been slim. But, there have been some reports detailing upgrades fans can expect from the remaster. These include a denser island pack with improved environments and visuals to make the world feel alive.

Weather is another possible upgrade, reportedly borrowing elements from recent Assassin’s Creed titles.Leaks have also suggested Ubisoft plans to introduce new gameplay and expand upon certain systems.

But, fans have been less enthused about other purported changes. Some believe Ubisoft will completely cut or downsize the portions of the game that take place in the modern era.

Ubisoft’s restructuring of the Assassin’s Creed franchise may have something to do with why Black Flag Resynced was revealed today. According to reports, staffing shifts and delays to other titles affected Resynced‘s development, setting it back considerably.

It’s expected that we’ll learn more about its release window during the reveal next week. Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed which platforms Resynced will launch on, but we should hear more about that during the reveal as well.

What we do know is that Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag left its mark on players, and fans are hungry for remakes that adequately honor their memories. Time will tell if Resynced hits the mark.
