Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag was easily one of the fan-favourites throughout Ubisoft’s history with the franchise. Featuring pirate protagonists, naval combat, and the introduction of Edward Kenway, Black Flag set itself apart from its predecessors.
Well, rumours of a remake are swirling once more. Recently discovered domain and a new Amazon product page seem to be pointing to a return to the seas. It hasn’t been confirmed by Ubisoft yet, but everything is starting to add up.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced Domain Registered
News has surfaced that the domain for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced was registered approximately two weeks ago.
Reportedly registered by French registrar GANDI SAS, Ubisoft typically uses them across the majority of its biggest franchises such as Far Cry, Prince of Persia, and older Assassin’s Creed titles.
Domains don’t always mean a game is officially in development or even coming, however it’s usually something that is done around the time of a reveal. The subtitle Resynced also makes sense with the narrative focuses of the Animus in previous games.
Amazon Art Book Listing Adds More Speculation
Amazon recently had a listing for Art / Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remaster - Hardcover set to release on March 24th, 2026 and under Ubisoft. Art books usually release around the time big games do or during big marketing pushes.
If this is real, we could see a remaster or remake reveal happening soon. Ubisoft likes to fill gaps between RPG juggernauts with smaller or nostalgia projects. If Assassin’s Creed Hexe is the next step for the franchise, a remastered Black Flag would fit between now and then.
