Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is dropping a couple key features from when it was originally released all those years ago. Ubisoft has confirmed there won’t be multiplayer or DLC added to the game when it releases later this year.
While this will surely upset some fans, director Paul Fu says that not including these aspects of Black Flag lets the team concentrate on making a single-player game better. “We want everything players experience in the game to revolve around Edward Kenway’s adventure,” Fu said.
That means that players won’t see multiplayer make a comeback in any form nor will there be any expansions outside of the main story.
Expansions Won’t Return, but Story Elements Will be Expanded
Speaking of story, players will still get some new narrative adventures in Black Flag Resynced. While some storytelling elements are being removed, others are being added to expand on the plot.
For example, modern-day segments will now take place within “rifts” that focus more on Edwars inner conflict. This change to the modern segments of AC: Black Flag point towards a better connection between then and now.
Story details are fairly slim at this point, but we do know the game is going beyond graphical improvements. Players can snag the Deluxe Edition of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced for more in-game bonuses.
These bonuses include cosmetic weapons and outfits as well as ship customisation bundles. However, players won’t see story expanding DLC like what was featured with the original game.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced will release on July 9 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
