The game is set in 1960s Japan, a remote mountain town of Ebisugaoka to be more precise, and follows a teenager Shimizu Hinako who leads an ordinary life until one day the town is transformed by a thick fog which releases all sorts of unknown and horrifying entities.
Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka returns for this one, which is another reason to get excited, if you're a Silent Hill fan. Silent Hill f will be coming to PC, Xbox Series X|S (Play Anywhere) and PlayStation 5.
The release date is still unknown but the game is available for wishlist across all storefronts. If I had to guess, I'd say we'll play this one sometime later this year, perhaps just in time for Halloween 2025.
One thing that I've found particularly interesting in the game's description is the two paths that players will seemingly be able to take through the game. Konami mentions elegance and beauty and madness and horror, suggesting there could be some choice and consequence systems in the game.
"Will she choose to embrace elegance and beauty? Or will her path lead her to madness and horror...A story of impossible decisions, of the beauty in terror, and terror from beauty."
I have to say, everything about Silent Hill f sounds and looks excellent and I can't wait to see more in the coming months. Konami have certainly made the right decision to bring this beloved franchise back after many years of stagnation.
