Silent Hill 2 Remake has a good chance of being the next title to join Sony’s PlayStation Plus line-up. A new report from reliable leaker Bilbill-kun reveals that the critically-acclaimed horror game will join PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium from October 21, 2025.
The news will come one year after the game’s original release, making it highly likely that Konami’s exclusivity deal on the PS5 is about to expire. Released on October 8, 2024, Silent Hill 2 Remake was a remake of the 2001 horror classic.
The game was developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami and saw the return of Silent Hill with a graphical overhaul, revamped combat, and re-recorded dialogue.
Potential End of PlayStation 5 Exclusivity
Silent Hill 2 Remake was a PlayStation 5 console exclusive game at the time of its initial launch, but the latest rumors indicate that the exclusivity period for the remake is coming to an end. This could mean that the game will eventually be ported to Xbox Series X|S, or perhaps a new Nintendo Switch 2 console when it inevitably launches.
There is also a rumor that the game is coming with a PS5 Pro patch, along with more DLC coming at launch. This would be a big change in how Konami has operated for its releases to date, but it would at least bring more opportunities for players to play the remake on other consoles.
October’s PlayStation Plus Lineup Looks Stacked
Silent Hill 2 Remake is not the only exciting news for PlayStation Plus in October.
Members of PS Plus Essential will have access to Alan Wake 2, Cocoon, and Goat Simulator 3 until November 4, while subscribers of Extra and Premium tiers will reportedly have access to Silent Hill 2 Remake as the new title in rotation, while titles like Battlefield 1, Tour de France 2023, and two games from The Dark Pictures Anthology are rotating out.
Classic PlayStation Titles Also Returning
Sony also has some new PlayStation Plus Premium Classics that are coming later this year, including:
- Tekken 3 (PlayStation)
- Soulcalibur III (PlayStation 2)
- Tomb Raider Anniversary (Enhanced Remake)
The October line-up is shaping up to be a good one for nostalgic fans of PlayStation history.
