Konami Digital Entertainment and NeoBards Entertainment’s upcoming survival horror Silent Hill f is almost upon us, and fans now know exactly when they’ll be able to pre-load the game.
Database entries have revealed the pre-load date, as well as the size of the game files for the PS5 version. Pre-loading a game allows players to install a game before launch, and play as soon as it unlocks.
This can be especially helpful with a horror release like Silent Hill f, when every minute spent waiting to start the game is a minute wasted for fans that can’t wait to play.
Silent Hill f File Size on PS5
Silent Hill f on PS5 will be 36.637 GB in size (01.001.000). That's actually relatively small for a Silent Hill game, as the Silent Hill 2 Remake required 50.535 GB on PS5.
The file size reduction may be due to more optimized assets or a more streamlined design, though players should still make sure to have enough space for the game and any future updates.
The pre-load dates are as follows:
- Deluxe Edition: September 21, 2025
- Standard Edition: September 23, 2025
Digital pre-orders will come with the latest update already applied, but there may be more patches before launch. Physical buyers will likely need to download the update separately.
Silent Hill f Launch and Review Embargo
Silent Hill f is set to release on September 25, 2025, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with a launch day available for those who pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition starting September 23.
The embargo is to lift at or around midnight on the day of release, most likely at 12 AM PT / 3 AM ET / 9 AM CET.
Featuring a setting that's new to the series, Silent Hill f follows high school student Hinako Shimizu in 1960s Japan as she wanders through a mysterious town called Ebisugaoka, solving puzzles and battling against some truly nightmarish creatures.
