One of the oldest heroes in Overwatch, Roadhog, is getting his kit reworked with some abilities simply changing their functionality but having the same identity while others are completely new additions.
Blizzard revealed the changes on the official Twitter account, although they only showed the highlights but detailed changes are now in as well.
Overall, the hog will lose some range but become a bigger nuisance in the area he controls. Less sniping, more hooking is the message.
Roadhog reworked abilities
Scrap Gun no longer has secondary fire. It deals 160 damage per shot now, up from 150, and has fewer pellets, meaning it is easier to land them all on the same target. Headshot damage multiplier reduced to 1.5 from 2.0.
Take a Breather will now be activated by using secondary fire. It can be toggled with a one second cooldown and uses a meter that gets depleted when the ability is active and recharges when it's not. It takes 12 seconds for the meter to fully recharge and it heals up to 450 health when the gauge is full.
Pig Pen is a new ability that is activated by the button where Take a Breather used to be. It launches a mine that deals 60 damage to the enemy that triggered it and 30 damage to their allies in the area of effect.
Affected enemies are slowed by 40 per cent for three seconds and the mine has a 12-second cooldown.
From the looks of it, Whole Hog and Chain Hook remained unchanged, meaning the hero's identity is largely unchanged - he will simply focus more on close range and pulling the enemies into it, rather than shooting a Pharah out of the sky.
