Baldur's Gate 3 is finally set to arrive to Xbox platform and the official release date announcement could be imminent

Larian Studios are teasing the announcement of Baldur's Gate 3 Xbox Series X|S version. It looks like we'll be getting a release date reveal sometime this week.

Larian Studios are finally ready to officially announce the release date for Baldur's Gate 3 on the Xbox Series X|S platform. After spending a couple of months working on optimisation for the Xbox Series S, Larian confirmed on X that Xbox fans should follow their social media channels closely this week for official announcements.

"Xbox fans, and fans of physical media, watch this space for a formal announcement. It's going to be a busy week," Larian wrote on social media X.

As you can see, Larian are also teasing the physical release of their critically acclaimed title which is also big news, especially for those who love owning boxed editions of games.

Back to the Xbox Series X|S version of Baldur's Gate 3. As you probably recall, Baldur's Gate 3 was initially announced for PlayStation 5 and PC only which caused a lot of hot debate among the gaming community, mostly Xbox fans.

Larian responded to Xbox fans, stating that Baldur's Gate 3 is not exclusive to PlayStation 5 and that the Xbox version is also in development. Soon, we found out that Larian had certain development troubles with the split screen feature on the weaker Series S console. In the end, Microsoft allowed Larian Studios to ship the game on Series S without the split screen, despite their feature parity requirements.

Baldur's Gate 3 is one of the best games of 2023 and Xbox fans will finally get to play it on their console

Interestingly, in the end, Larian Studios found a fix for their VRAM issue while optimising for Series S so other platforms will benefit from this too. I guess all of those who bashed Series S and asked Microsoft to completely drop the console don't look that smart now.
