Developer Hexworks have revealed new Lords of the Fallen gameplay in their Unreal Engine 5 technical showcase demo at GDC.
After a long wait, souls-like action RPG Lords of the Fallen is officially launching later this year and it's safe to say that the excitement is through the roof thanks to earlier trailers.
Hexworks ' dark fantasy title looks better than ever with highly detailed environments, characters and stunning art that really makes Lords of the Fallen look like a big-budget AAA game.
In their recent GDC presentation, developer Hexworks have talked about the tech that's powering their game and allowing them to create such highly detailed assets and lightning.
Hexworks explained that they've used Unreal Engine 5's features like Nanite for realistic lightning, to help them make the interiors look more believable. But the team also built their own tools to be able to create two worlds and allow players to travel between those.

The game features the world of the living Axiom and the world of the dead Umbril which are crafted side by side and can seamlessly swap at any time according to the devs.
All in all, that's a pretty exciting update for one of the most anticipated action RPGs of this year. Lords of the Fallen is currently in development for PC , PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S . There is no specific release date announced just yet.
