Fortnite recently confirmed details for its next live event. Dubbed Shattered, the event will conclude Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 2 on June 5th at 7:00 PM ET.
As mentioned, Shattered will serve as an epilogue for the season while also bringing the current storyline between the Foundation and Ice King to a close. Although Epic hasn’t provided many details about Shattered yet, we already know that this live event is shaping up to be one of Fortnite’s largest in years.
This will be the first major live event Fortnite has hosted since Collision, which served as the finale for Chapter 3 Season 2. As many players will remember, Collision also kicked off a period of downtime for Fortnite.
What to Expect From Fortnite’s Shattered Event
No official announcement has been made on how long the event will run or where it will be located in Fortnite’s ever-changing map. However, fans have speculated that the conclusion of the game’s storyline may significantly alter the island.
Live events have been a big part of Fortnite over the years, enticing players in the millions to tune into large-scale cinematic events that occur in-game, as well as drive story progression. Epic dropped the announcement amidst another noteworthy moment for the company.
Fortnite recently returned to the Apple App Store in several countries around the world amid a lawsuit between Epic Games and Apple Inc. Epic has continued to speak out against Apple’ App Store regulations, saying it will “continue to fight” what it calls anti-competitive rules regarding alternative app stores and payment methods.
Fortnite players will have to wait until June 5 to see what Shattered unleashes as Chapter 7 Season 2 quickly approaches its end.
