The final major update to Lords of the Fallen has been released, delivering the last word on Hexworks’ fantasy action RPG. Version 2.5 is one of the toughest gameplay updates yet, buffing encounters across the board and introducing a brand-new difficulty setting for veteran crusaders.
After a string of over 70 content updates based on community feedback, this release is the CI Games' last major drop. On its own, Update 2.5 helps returning players shake up their experience with new enemy aggression, adjusted boss AI and expanded combat identity, while those that want an even greater challenge can test themselves in the new Veteran Mode.
Deadlier Bosses and smarter enemies
Version 2.5 cranks up the threat level across all of Mournstead. The developers have rebalanced bosses, mini-bosses, and standard enemies with faster recovery, updated combo chains, and more aggressive AI patterns.
Even in the base Legacy Mode, they are finding that encounters feel much sharper, and more focused on exacting timing and positioning.
Veteran Mode: New high-tier challenge
Developers recognized that many of you have already completed the campaign and are looking for a higher tier of difficulty. Veteran Mode is designed with these players in mind.
Enemies flow between actions more quickly, have new attack patterns, and are more decisive when punishing defensive play. This mode is intended to be an elevated Soulslike challenge for completionists and those looking for more of everything in a Bloodstained game without changing the core game loop.
New Boss weapons and armour set
In Update 2.5, they have also reworked several boss weapons with new signature attack animations, giving these high-value items a more distinctive feel.
Players who overcome the demands of Veteran Mode can earn the Veteran of the Veil armour set, a premium defensive option that features a passive boost to item drop rates.
Lords of the Fallen is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
