CI Games and developer Hexworks today dropped a surprising update for their action RPG Lords of the Fallen, which was one of my favourite games of 2023.
The update titled Clash of Champions is completely free of charge for all players and introduces the ultimate challenge - boss rush mode. Players can now replay singular boss fights with bosses they've previously defeated or confront them sequentially in what will certainly be an exhausting trial.
Both of these variations can be playable in single-player mode but also co-op multiplayer if you need help from a fellow Lampbearer.
To access the boss rush mode, simply visit the nearest Vestige and choose one of the two variations - Echhoes of Battle or Crucible. Echoes of Battle allows you to re-play your favourite boss encounters while Crucible is a series of six increasingly challenging trials of pre-selected bosses that must be overcome without dying to unlock rewards, including Shrine Currency and exclusive new armour tints.
You can check all available bosses in the new boss rush mode in the image below.
The official announcement also revealed that today's update brings various performance improvements which is always welcomed, especially since Lords of the Fallen had a lot of performance issues on launch.
Lords of the Fallen is available now on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Game Pass.
