Lords of the Fallen update brings PS5 Pro support and gameplay improvements

Lords of the Fallen, a game, has received a significant update, including PS5 Pro support, gameplay, and performance enhancements. The update also includes reworked mob density, revised long-range enemy distances, and improved platforming in Pilgrim's Perch.

Hexworks' Lords of the Fallen just got one of its biggest updates so far, adding PS5 Pro support, a host of gameplay, and performance enhancement fixes.

Coinciding with Sony's list of optimized games for the new PS5 Pro, Lord of the Fallen was added into the mix as one that supports both Performance and Quality modes for the said console.

On PS5 Pro, Performance Mode shoots for 60 FPS at an upscaled 4K from 1440p, while Quality Mode focuses on native 4K at 30 frames per second. Indeed, the developer has boasted of a "40 percent increase" in pixel density, hence promising better visuals. Of course, more is sure to be unveiled when the PS5 Pro goes live on November 7.

Version 1.6 also brings PS5 Pro support and a whole host of different gameplay changes. This means reworked mob density (enemy groupings) for smoother combat from the community-influenced feedback, revised distances of the long-range foes to make them engage from fair distances, and platforming in Pilgrim's Perch isn't an awful nightmare nowadays with clear indications while jumping.

PvP balancing has also been tuned, especially with the magic-based weapons and spells, finding a good sweet spot to smooth battles without touching any aspect of PvE gameplay.

New tutorial spots for abilities like Soulflay and Syphoning have also been added in Redcopse, making skills like these a bit more approachable for newer players coming in.

This update also polishes Umbral, the dark alternate world in Lords of the Fallen. The spawning of enemies is way better, with players given ample time to explore before Scarlet Shadow appears, making it a lot more suspenseful yet rewarding to explore.

The ambiance and sound within Umbral also progress gradually to build tension in the area.

This means performance should be smoother on PC in high-graphic areas, and overall, the patch is supposed to grant all platforms a more immersive and evened-out experience of the game.

Lords of the Fallen is out now on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC.
