Lords of the Fallen is one of the most anticipated games of 2023 and after a long wait, the release date is just around the corner. As you've probably guessed, this action RPG from Hexworks and CI Games is a souls-like title, featuring challenging gameplay and intricate level design.
But does Lords of the Fallen feature open-world with focused levels like Elden Ring or it's more streamlined like Dark Souls 3? We'll take a look at the game's world design in this article so read on below for all details.
Does Lords of the Fallen feature an open world?
Lords of the Fallen will not be an open-world game as it utilises a more focused world design. You will be able to journey across two expansive worlds - Umbral and Axiom.
The world in Lords of the Fallen is interconnected with many secrets and shortcuts as expected from a Metroidvania title. In a nutshell, Lords of the Fallen is more like Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 than Elden Ring in terms of level design.
The game will feature various regions that you'll visit and we got to see some of them in pre-release screenshots and footage. Here are some screenshots:
The art style of each world certainly looks incredible and we can't wait to see more of the game and obviously, play it soon.
Lords of the Fallen is coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on October 13, 2023.
