While the current meta is healthier than before, some champions are still too strong, and others are too weak to see much play. That's where patch 13.8 comes in with new buffs and nerfs!

Big news from Riot - the upcoming League of Legends patch 13.8 will feature major buffs for a bunch of champions. The buffs will primarily impact the pro play meta, with MSI (Mid Season Invitational) just around the corner.

The previous two patches, 13.6 and 13.7, laid the groundwork for this big MSI patch. Patch 13.6 was focused on solo queue and buffed some champions with low win rates, while 13.7 buffed some popular pro picks.

According to Riot's Lead Designer at the Summoner's Rift team, Phroxzon, champions like Nidalee, Lillia, Poppy, Leona, Alistar, Ezreal, Janna, Garen, Kha'Zix, Zoe, and Kog'Maw will receive significant buffs.

Ezreal

Ezreal is a well-known and frequently picked champion in League of Legends. He's a versatile champion, capable of adapting to various playstyles and item builds, which makes him a popular choice among players.

Currently, Ezreal has a pick rate of over 16%, but a win rate of only 48%. With the Mid Season Invitational approaching, it's an ideal opportunity to give Ezreal some much-needed attention. As a result, Riot has decided to increase his base AD from 60 to 62 in the upcoming patch, which will hopefully improve his performance in matches.

Nidalee

Nidalee hasn't undergone significant changes since last year's durability patch. Although there were a few bug fixes, she didn't receive any gameplay updates. Furthermore, her win rate mainly depends on AP items rather than her own abilities.

Presently, Nidalee's pick rate is average at 4.6%, and her win rate is a low 49.54%. However, in the upcoming patch, Cosmic Drive will also receive a boost, which, when combined with her buffs, may make her a potent champion in the future.

Lillia

  • Monster Damage Cap: 50-150 > 70-150
  • Monster Healing: 24-75 + 5.4% AP > 39-54 +15% AP
  • Champion Healing: 6-120 + 18% AP > 6-90 +30% AP

During the preseason 2023, the introduction of Jak’Sho had an impact on various champions, including Lillia, who became stronger. However, Riot later nerfed both Jak’Sho and Lillia, causing her pick and win rates to decline.
