Players of League of Legends will be losing League Classic in the near future. Riot Games have stated that the mode will come to an end after season 3 of 2026. Meaning in January of 2027 we will no longer be able to play League Classic.
But maybe we will be able to play it again in the future. Riot wants to make it a event mode with some new changes. We don't know if were going to see it return but we can assume they will add more updates to it before the end.
Most players have started playing the other modes of League of Legends. This has caused issues with some regions having long queues and big skill gaps.
They wanted to create a mode that you could play previous seasons of league on. You could play with all of the old items, runes and masteries. With 60 champions to start off with. Some new features were added to the mode such as ping's and spell buffer.
Players loved the idea of getting to play the old version of league but as players started leaving the game it became hard to match them up with others that had similar skill levels.
Will We See League Classic In The Future?
They stated they want to add it back as a event mode with some changes and new content. Maybe were going to see it return on a schedule but nothing has been said about that. For now know that League classic will be ending in January 2027.
More Updates To League Classic Before It Ends
There are still some updates coming to League classic before it ends. More champions will be added to the game until patch 26.23. Volibear, Urgot and Udyr are some of the champions people have voted for on the council.
They are also adding a battle pass to League classic. This will be free only act II battle pass that will be available during patch 26.21. Some regions will only be able to play on custom games and other regions will have set times to queue.
