This year, League of Legends has seen a lot of changes being made to the Fighter class. Riot has been making adjustments to make them either stronger or weaker. At the beginning of the season, Fighters were the most dominant class in the top lane, thanks in part to the Jax rework and the presence of champions like Renekton and K’Sante.
However, in Patch 13.1B, Riot started to make nerfs to the Fighter class, targeting both the champions and items used. This shift in balance was meant to favor tanks, but it ended up making Fighters weaker and less impactful in solo queue games.
As a result, the top lane has become less important in solo queue matches, despite the fact that pro play still shows Fighters being viable. Tanks have become the norm, with only the champions using Divine Sunderer being seen as viable Fighters. Riot did revert the changes made to Death’s Dance in Patch 13.7 to make it more powerful, but it appears that they still feel it’s not enough. Rumors suggest that Fighter Mythics may be changed after MSI.
According to a comment made by Riot Axes on a recent Reddit post, there's been discussion about potential changes to Fighter Mythics following MSI 2023. However, it doesn't seem like any major adjustments are planned in the immediate future - just some minor tweaks.
Riot Axes noted that Fighter Items as a whole could benefit from more differentiation, as there's currently not much distinction between them. In particular, he pointed out that most Fighter Mythics seem to be primarily focused on providing stats rather than unique gameplay mechanics. The one exception to this is Divine Sunderer, which stands out as a more distinct option.
Overall, it seems like Riot is aware of the current issues with Fighter Items and is looking into ways to improve them. However, it may take some time for any major changes to be implemented.
