Destiny 2 features a few highlights each season when it comes to important events for both PvE and PvP. Bungie announced all of them ahead of the Season 18 release, which is coming on August 23, 2022.
First of all - the new, or rather unvaulted, raid will launch on August 26, 2022, and the World First competition will be held on the same day. Keep in mind this is a Friday, which is not the usual MO for Bungie but this time around they decided to move it one day ahead in order to preserve the devs' weekend.
The first iteration of Iron Banner will arrive on the second weekly reset after the raid, on September 6, with the second week of the event starting on November 15, 2022. This season's IB will feature the new Eruption game mode.
Trials of Osiris will have a hiatus at the start of the season, as per usual, but it will return on September 16, 2022, to once again be the rage-inducing top tier PvP activity.
On the PvE side of top tier activities, Grandmaster Nightfalls will return on October 4, 2022, letting everyone get themselves one-shot if they pop their head out for slightly too long.
There is also the seasonal event, Festival of the Lost, which is Destiny 2's version of Halloween and it will start on October 18, 2022. These events usually last for three weeks and this one will feature a new skin line based on mechs.
