Bungie is kicking off the next season of Destiny 2 soon so here are all the highlights regarding the changes and additions that are known so far.

Destiny 2 players have had one of the better seasons with Season of the Haunted but Bungie is once again hyping the one that is just around the corner and are keeping lips sealed so there aren't too many leaks around but we do have quite a bit of interesting information about what's next in store for the players.

Destiny 2 Season 18 release date

Season 18 is coming on August 23, 2022, at weekly reset, just as Season of the Haunted concludes. The actual name of Season 18 is currently not known.

Season 18 World First race

Not long after the start of the season, players will get to compete for another World First title in Destiny 2. The race will commence on Friday, August 26, 2022.

While it normally took place on a Saturday before, this race is moved to Friday so the devs don't have to get their weekend ruined.

Additionally, the raid will not be a new one - Bungie already confirmed it will be a raid from the original Destiny , one that is not Crota's End.

What's new in Season 18?

Arc 3.0 is coming with the new season, rounding up all the Light subclass reworks. At this point, everything will be working with the fragment and aspect system, allowing for more build customisation. After this, there was speculation that Resonance would arrive with the next expansion but until then, we will get to experiment with the existing specs.

Keep in mind that Classy Restoration is most likely going away at the end of the season so Solar builds will be indirectly nerfed.

Iron Banner is ditching Rift in favour of Eruption but the former will move to the weekly rotator modes in regular Crucible.
