The Killzone Legendary Warbond returns permanently to Helldivers 2 on 18 December, bringing bonus items for previous buyers and new Extrasolar Ash cosmetics for all players.

The Helldivers 2 x Killzone Legendary Warbond crossover is back and is here to stay. Following last year’s divisive and extremely short-lived offering, Arrowhead Studios has officially confirmed that the shared Warbond will be returning permanently on 18 December and will be available for players to purchase yet another time.

Players will also be able to add it to their rotation to fight for again, with the studio also adding new items for those who want to complete the collection. The added variety and permanency make this release far more enticing than the original one was.

Anyone who bought even just one item in the bundle last year will receive all of them for free in their locker after the return when they take it out of rotation. Given how much the Warbond originally cost, this is a huge appreciation of value and an excellent addition for anyone who wants to make use of this updated Legendary Warbond.

A permanent return with added items

While this may not apply to everyone who takes a shot at the Warbond, Helldivers players who missed the original drop have one more chance to purchase it for 1500 Super Credits, the same price it had last year.

New players will still be required to unlock every single item with medals, while players who took advantage of the free apology items previously, but not the full bundle, will not be required to spend medals to unlock items they previously didn’t get.

In addition to the returning items, Arrowhead is also mixing things up a bit with some new cosmetics, namely the Extrasolar Ash pattern for the Pelican, Hellpod, Exosuits, and more equipment.

These visual updates help to expand on the Warbond’s value as players can continue to go after items they already have, but with a new pattern.

Returning after the latest update

The Legendary Warbond’s return also arrives not long after a major update to Helldivers 2, which introduced Magma Worlds as a new planet type with hazards and opportunities for outdoor combat on the lava planet itself.

The studio has also followed up on previous reports about the team working on a rogue-lite mode, as it has been confirmed that prototyping has officially begun, but development is still in its earliest stages with no time frame for a potential arrival.
