With so many new players joining Helldivers 2, the developers at Arrowhead now have a new issue on their hands. Their servers are being pushed beyond their capacity and causing connectivity and matchmaking issues on both Steam and PlayStation 5.

Truth be told everyone hates waiting in line, especially when it comes to blasting intergalactic bugs! But why are so many players joining Helldivers 2? The reason is simple, they all have a shared love for democracy, freedom, and yes squashing bugs. Jokes aside, what makes this game such an instant hit is due to the unique game mechanics combined with humour and sarcasm. This was a refreshing change instead of being yet another typical run-of-the-mill sci-fi shooter.

Since its launch within a few weeks, Helldivers 2 is already outperforming both Fortnite and Call of Duty on the PSN. But the server issues are causing serious bottlenecking in the game, hindering players' ability to join games and prolonged waiting times.

The current condition of Helldivers 2 can be best described with the "Suffering from Success" meme. That's because no one ever thought that this game would be such a hit right off the bat.

The CEO Johan Pilestedt himself recently stated that "It's being worked on 24/7" when asked about the server issues. He further emphasized that the entire Arrowhead team is prioritizing the server issues above every other issue.

So this gives players some assurance that their needs are heard and will be addressed with sincerity. In the meantime, some players are staying logged in all day long to avoid the prolonged queues as a workaround for the server issues.
