ArenaNet has officially announced that Absolution, the final chapter of the Guild Wars 2: The Janthir Wilds expansion will become available starting Tuesday June 3, 2025. Players can look forward to an epic confrontation with Janthir titans alongside fresh gameplay content and numerous rewards plus quality-of-life improvements in the much-awaited finale.
The update features a new zone based on mursaat lore along with massive foes for group events and challenging content including Kinfall fractal that reveals information about the Kodan and Elder Dragon Jormag. This update delivers content that will engage players looking for PvE progression and those pursuing cosmetic prestige.
All players who have Janthir Wilds can access Absolution at no additional cost as ArenaNet continues its tradition of delivering frequent content-rich expansions on a quarterly basis instead of one massive annual release.
Explore Bava Nisos and the Mists Gate
The crumbling city of Bava Nisos stands as the central location of Absolution which used to represent mursaat dominance. A twisted ancient location awaits players as they join the map-wide meta-event that reaches its peak at the Mists Gate which starts the titan invasion.
The introduction of the new world boss Ura in the Convergence game mode represents unprecedented stakes. This instanced battle can accommodate 50 players and challenges their coordination and skills by bringing them face-to-face with one of Janthir's greatest threats.
New Fractal: Kinfall Explores Kodan Lore
The new Kinfall Fractal provides players who prefer instanced PvE content with an immersive narrative experience. During this encounter players step into the shoes of lowland Kodan and experience historical events as they listen to the Elder Dragon Jormag for the first time.
The fractal deepens Kodan narrative elements while connecting current gameplay to Tyria's historical lore which links former events to Janthir's ongoing battle. Standard fractal content includes intricate mechanics along with environmental dangers and visuals rich in lore.
Homestead Enhancements and Mastery Expansion
The developers of Homesteads have prepared exciting new features for builders and decorators. A new placement limit of 2,000 objects replaces the previous 1,000 limit which enables deeper customization and richer layout designs.
The Homestead mastery line now reaches level 500 which grants access to new crafting recipes and decor choices.
Long-time players now enjoy additional progression routes and creative opportunities for customizing their personal space through a system ArenaNet has expanded since Homesteads first appeared.
Legendary Rewards, New Weapon Sets and Vault Refresh
The update features Legendary Rewards along with new weapon sets and a refreshed version of the Vault.
The expansion Absolution delivers high-level rewards alongside its narrative and interactive elements. The Absolution update rewards players with an exclusive legendary backpack and glider as well as unique weapon sets and new relics supplemented by refreshed items in the Wizards Vault.
The game rewards players for playing different modes including open-world exploration and instanced content. This update delivers meaningful progression opportunities for both collectors and power gamers.
