GSC Game World's internal teams who worked on the initial content for Stalker 2 have now started building the two major expansions which will be coming to the game after sometime in the year(s) after launch.
The information comes from WindowsCentral reporter Jez Corden who had the opportunity to talk to the dev team recently. GSC Game World have the base game content wrapped up, which is obvious since the game is coming in less than a month, and have put some internal teams to work on the new content that will be part of the expansions.
"The team that worked on the initial content for the game have already moved on, that part of the team have finished their work on the base game, they've moved on to working on the two expansions that they've got planned for," Jez Corden said on the Xbox Two Podcast.
The information about these expansions is pretty much non-existent at the moment. We only know from the game's listing that there will be two of them and both are part of Stalker 2 Ultimate Edition which costs $109.99.
You can also purchase the DLC pack separately. It's available as a Season Pass and includes both expansion and all smaller DLC. The price of that one is $29.99.
Corden also added that GSC Game World plan to release many post-launch updates and patches to improve the game, which is something the studio have talked about recently, asserting how they don't want to release a game that will be forgotten in a month.
It will certainly be interesting to see the reception from both the fans and the critics. Stalker 2 was in development for a long, long time and some of the obstacles that the dev team faced during that time were incredibly tough. It's a miracle that Stalker 2 is releasing next month to be fair.
