Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, on the other hand, fits into that category as one title that fans have been waiting for the most. Finally, we are close by its release, as the Ukrainian developer GSC Game World has now shared some more information regarding the difficulty settings.
Fans already knew it, though: this was going to be a quite challenging open-world survival horror game.
In an interview with Windows Central recently, GSC Game World confirmed that Stalker 2 launches with three difficulty modes. Even the "Normal" setting, however, is going to be pretty challenging.
The game is designed to be tough right out of the box, and even advanced players are going to be put through their paces.
Those who want to take it even further will receive more challenging enemies and mechanics on the toughest difficulty setting and lose some HUD and UI either.
It means players will have to rely on their instinct and survival abilities even more since they won't be provided with part of in-game information.
At launch, we're offering difficulty at three different levels, but even on 'normal' the game is pretty tough," said the developer. "The highest amount of difficulty locks all HUD and UI elements, and makes the game that much more realistic and intense.
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl launches on November 20, 2024 for Xbox Series X/S and PC, and will be available on Game Pass at launch. With punishing gameplay blended with an immersive open-world setting, it's shaping up to be a must-play for fans of survival horror.
