Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, a horror RPG survivor developed by GSC Game World, is a shooter game above all, and being shooter means using all sorts of weapons and weapon attachments that will help you manage through the very dangerous Zone.
One very cool mechanic that has been present from the first Stalker games is weapon degradation, so in order to make your weapons as reliable as possible, you're going to need to keep them in good shape, and that is where the mechanics come to play.
Inside the camps all over the Zone, you'll meet mechanics, and they will be there to repair your weapons, but they do not do just that. They can also upgrade your weapons and make them more powerful and more attractive by adding some features, like the ability to add different attachments to your guns.
In this guide, we will teach you how to make any weapon available to attach a scope to it.
How to attach a scope to any weapon
To clarify some things at the start, some weapons you'll find throughout the game will have a scope attached, and those scopes cannot be removed at first, but if you bring that specific weapon to a mechanic and install the specific upgrade, that will be doable then. All other weapons have the ability to add or remove scopes whenever you see fit to do it.
One more thing. Not all the attachments fit all the weapons in the game. If you want, for example, to attach a scope or holographic sight to an AK-47, you'll have to own the attachment that fits this rifle.
To make a gun attachment-worthy, go to a mechanic and choose to upgrade that gun. Look for the upgrade dot on the tip of its barrel—look at the picture above for reference. Once you click on it, depending on the gun, you'll have multiple options to upgrade; the last one is usually the one that adds the ability to attach scopes. Just read the description, and you'll know which is the right one.
Once you buy the upgrade, you'll be able to add scopes to that gun, provided you have a corresponding scope in your inventory. You can also add or remove scopes and all available attachments on-run by holding the Up button on D-pad or the corresponding button on the keyboard.
