Fortnite x BLEACH collaboration

The upcoming Fortnite x BLEACH collaboration may introduce Soul Reaper and Arrancar skins, themed cosmetics and even a BLEACH-inspired soundtrack. Here’s what current leaks and rumours suggest about the crossover.

Fortnite’s long-anticipated BLEACH crossover is showing signs of life with recent leaks confirming that Epic Games is actively working on a new update based around the legendary anime.

First details of the crossover confirm that the game will feature a complete slate of BLEACH skins, along with music and cosmetics based on several of the series’ fan-favorite characters, including both classic Soul Reaper and more twisted Arrancar variants. While unconfirmed, fan excitement for the long-awaited update is already at an all-time high.

Confirmations from one of Fortnite’s most reliable leakers that Epic Games is actively working on the BLEACH crossover has already started the hype train rolling. If all goes as planned, the upcoming update will be one of Fortnite’s most massive anime-themed crossovers to date.

What we know so far

So far, Epic Games has not confirmed the collaboration. However, a number of posts by several well-respected Fortnite leakers indicate that a BLEACH crossover is coming.

The contents of the collab, as is the case with many early leaks, remain a bit unclear, but it seems likely the crossover will include a full cosmetic set of several character-based skins. These leaks have not mentioned anything particularly concrete about a release date or the structure of the event, but the depth of the leaks shared by fans suggests the collab is potentially in the process of being internally tested.

Bleach theme song

One of the larger conversations amongst fans is whether or not music from BLEACH will be a part of the collab. Fans of the anime have been clamouring for Epic to include the series’ theme music, or a re-imagined version that works better within the Fortnite world.

If Epic does include music with the skins, it could take the form of lobby music, loading screen music, or accompanying the release of the skins with special in-game music events.

What the skin line could look like

Soul Reaper

The most likely anchor for the line of skins is BLEACH’s cast of Soul Reapers. Fans would expect to see skins inspired by each of the captains and lieutenants, in their signature shihakushō robes and with Zanpakutō for weapons that are instantly recognisable.

Epic has historically added dynamic elements to its collaboration skins and a BLEACH-themed set would likely include elements such as glow effects, aura trails, or even ethereal spiritual energy trailing from the player during movement, sprint, or elimination animations.

Arrancar and Hollow variants

Another likely possibility for skins is darker characters inspired by the Arrancar and Hollow forms that main characters take on during the anime.

Fortnite’s artists have frequently dabbled in skins that cater to two style variants and BLEACH has a number of excellent sources for alternate versions of characters that focus on bone-like textures, mask fragments, and more hollowed-out aesthetics.

If Epic were to decide to extend the crossover to additional gameplay elements, the collab could also include themed gliders, pickaxes based on Zanpakuto, stylised wraps, and even mythic animations themed around BLEACH’s most iconic attacks.

Epic has a strong track record of adding event-specific changes to the map and a BLEACH-themed area or short-lived visual effect would be highly likely.
